A stones throw away and we were at the doors of The Black Horse. Before we could even get to the bar, we were welcomed with a free gift of a Wispa Gold (Hazelnut flavour) that was sitting on a table nearby with a sign saying ‘Old choc. Free’. Upon closer inspection, the choc in question went out of date in February 2022, so we passed on the very kind offer.
A lot going on here. A very long pub that had loads of different ‘mish-mashed’ sections. We moved through the pool table area, the live music area and the pub garden area before ending up in the extended car park full of crap area. We weren’t alone in the pub and were sat next to a group of local lads who left shortly afterwards in a convertible Saab, which you don’t often see these days.
Other bits worth mentioning were the ‘used condom art’ in the toilets and the various ‘anti-tori’ and ‘pro-gaza’ stickers on the walls. Won’t go into politics here but we enjoyed that this pub stood for something.
