About Us
Pub Sessions has been in operation since March 2016, when the first session was held at the Great Northern Railway Tavern in Hornsey.
Sessions takes place roughly monthly, midweek, with members convening in an area of London or the Home Counties to taste the delights of the local public house offering.
Scoring
Character
The pub itself: the building, decor, atmosphere and history.
Products
What the bar serves: the range and quality of drinks, and any snacks or food.
Bartenders
The staff: service, friendliness and how well the bar is run.
Clientèle
The customers: the regulars and the overall crowd on the night.
Each category is scored out of 5 and the final score is the average of the four. All scoring is 100% arbitrary and cannot be relied upon in a court of law.
The awards
Each December the Christmas Special returns to the year's finest pubs, and the three highest-scoring establishments are presented with the much-coveted Public House of the Year awards. Gold, Silver and Bronze are the highest honours Pub Sessions bestows, each marked with a certificate, and are keenly contested from the first session of the year to the last. See the hall of fame.
