Our revelry at The Bailie earlier, meant that we had to alter our route and headed towards the station and stumbled upon The Castle.
Again, live music was very prevalent at this establishment too. Although it was of the heavy metal variety. Everything was painted black, and they were playing some very loud rock music that sounded like complete nonsense. We escaped the din and went to the garden where several groups of emos/goths/metalheads were hanging out. Of interest in the garden was some delightful bunting which didn’t really match the heavy metal décor or audio accompaniment. Nice though.
According to my notes ‘Joe started talking about his boxing’ but none of us can quite remember what this was. Good on you, Joe. Couple of quiz games later and we made a frantic dash to a couple of other places in the centre that had literally just closed. We were stranded with nowhere to go. We found solace in a Luton town sign and took a tourist photo to remember our evening by.
So what’s Luton like? Absolutely bloody brilliant. And what’s better is that we have a whole host of other pubs that we couldn’t get to so there will be a ‘Part 2’ in the near future. Stay tuned for that one, folks!
