HOLY SHIT WE HIT THE JACKPOT! What a place this is. If you’re ever near Luton or its surrounding areas, you MUST visit The Bailie.
This place really had it all. Frank the landlord welcomed us with open arms and instantly got chatting about who we were and what we were about. The Guinness here was unreal but Frank wouldn’t give away his secret – ‘if I told you how we keep it so good, I’d have to kill you’. Once we were suitably watered, we started a game of killer pool (kindly funded by Frank) and made friends with Ged and John who we instantly struck up a rapport with. Game on.
The pressure was on to prove our worth in front of our newfound friends. A tight game ensued with plenty of heckling from John throughout (see video), which paid off for him as he came home with the victory. His prize? Pick someone to do a shot. He picked Jak. We were elated.
When we went outside to take our usual photo, the whole pub emptied and joined us in the street. Everyone was talking about the big Abba tribute on Saturday and we were cordially invited. Go on down if you’re nearby.
None of us wanted to leave. 5 star pub. 5 star people. 5 star ambience. Perfection.
