The Peacock

2024 Sessions kicks off in the east end in the delightful Stepney Green. A couple of us lived here in yesteryear though we had never been to the Peacock and following a refurb last year we thought it was right to pay it a visit.

Wow! Jak put out the big shout that it was going to win the pub of the year, which some would say was premature given it was the first pub we visited this year but you could see where he was coming from.

Very busy last night with all tables filled with punters of varying ages. Lovely warming low light lamps on each table meant the atmosphere was very homely. So homely in fact that we stayed for 3 pints.

The bartenders were extremely attentful and very very good. Very good.

We even managed to get our hands on East End Pubs the east end bible of boozers from the renowned @londonpubexplorer! Selling these behind the bar and what a treat, the perfect accompaniment to a pint next to the fire.

Beautiful decor and such a well rounded pub, it may have been the first of the year but I think its safe to say we will be back here.

With 5 more pubs on the agenda we got our stuff together and begrudgingly moved on.
