Shiver me timbers, we've hit the fucking jackpot. After a quick pit stop for a sainsburys meal deal we slipped seamlessly into The Crown. The final stop on our tour of Limehouse.
Big darts comp going off and we were happy to get the seat at the other end of the pub and soak in the atmosphere. We had come across The Crown pub darts team before circa 2018 when they were playing against the Bancroft Arms on Mile End Road. We'd been meaning to visit ever since and finally we were inside her.
An 84 year old fella called George sat at the bar, he quipped that my camera was broken when I took a picture which didn't really make sense but it got us talking. He lives in a tower block just up the road and he visits The Crown daily. Wife had passed away and he had no kids so here was his retirement home. No good at darts anymore but loved the atmosphere. Really lovely bloke though he was unfortunately convinced that the hospital had done tests on him last time he was in after a fall - and he'd never been the same since.
Whilst the Herts boys ran for their precious little train, Andy demanded the remainers had another round which really did see us off.
What can I say, what a sessions to bring the new year in. Incredibly high concentration of top quality, lively and varied pubs all within a couple of minutes of each other.
Thank you
