The Flower of Kent was up next, a little walk down Lewisham Way. We were excited for this place and it did not let us down. An immense drink selection and whilst only one additional patron was there whilst we visited, Lloyd the landlord really took care of us providing a complimentary Wray and Nephews with Baileys. His wife came down in a dressing gown at one point too.
The homemade Rum Punch was a steal at £5, which again was predominantly Wray and Nephews. Dragon Stout and Holsten Pils are available in bottles and Red Stripe is on tap though the real jewel in its crown were the chilled Magnum Tonic Wines for £5 a bottle.
In the week the pubs quiet, though thursday-saturday DJs are on and it gets lively. Lloyd confirmed Friday night has some bashment and gets a bit more hectic if thats what you like.
Unusual interior, though from past photos I think the tables often are cleared out for dancing. Next visit will have to be on a weekend to enjoy the music. I’ve got a feeling we’ll see this place again soon.

Bronze 2021
Bronze 2021. The Flower of Kent in Deptford. Herring handed the award to Lloyd who had come to say hello as he recalled our previous visit. He was very happy and he and his wife poured us all a baileys and wray and nephews to celebrate. We could not stay for the music as we had a date in Harlesden but the place was getting busier as we left. Renowned for its reggae nights, but the real charm for us was the hospitality. Go here.
