The Bancroft Arms on Mile End Road. Full to the brim as it was a crunch darts night between itself and The Crown who’d made their way from Limehouse. They played on an old East End Fives Board, synonomous with East End pubs and the old dockers, 5-25 available to score. No one seemed particularly happy that we were there but they entertained our questions. Real east end crowd. Ages from 20-80. Fantastic pub that’s kept its exterior in great condition. Divine pints of Bellhaven. I think we may need to have a stroll to Limehouse and visit the opposition.
