Ding ding, and they’re off. Lizzy line is open so we were very quickly in Woolwich. Don’t let the newly done square and Marks and Spencers fool you, you’re very quickly amongst the chaos. A 20 minute walk from the station to take in the sights, smells and sounds of Herbert Road before we arrived at The Lord Herbert. Cracking name for a pub and very nice experience. Families and the like frollicking in the garden though it has had gentrification’s fancy hands around its neck, with a pizza place The Rust Bucket adjoining the pub. We didn’t have a calzone though were very tempted. Back on Herbert Road after a quick pint on to the next adventure.
