We were fearing the worst as we strolled up to the Lord Raglans door though thankful the lights were on and the landlady and landlord were home. A brother and sister combo behind the bar with one fella perched at the end. They warned us it was cash only but this wasn’t our first sessions, so cash we had.

What was quite clear from first impressions was how well kept the place was. Everything perfectly clean, well placed and orderly. We spoke for some time with the owners who have been in place for over 25 years and they told of the reduction in trade. Covid being a real blow and it hasn’t picked up like it was. There are still locals though we only saw 4 other patrons through the doors as we drank. They do all the cleaning and staffing themselves to stay a float, previously employing two barstaff though it was no longer viable. We really implore you to visit this place if you are in the area - or make a trip down and visit a few of the treaures Woolwich has to offer including this one before any more close. The landlady, Rose and her brother deserve a full pub and really is a sight to behold.

Darts, pool and a jukebox. Its also massive with an additional function room. The walls adorned with various footballing memoriabillia agnostic to club though with a fair bit of Charlton FC. Cheeselets available behind the bar. We end our time here with Rose’s recommended shot of a Fireball.

Great place and again we really implore you to visit.
