Away we go for the first sessions of the year and as it happens its also the first time we’ve visited a West London post code, we’re in Shepherds Bush.
We had attempted to start at The Queens Tavern but the pub was closed, perhaps only opening midweek for QPR games? Not to fear, we jogged 10mins down the road to The White Horse on Uxbridge Road.
A craft union pub but one that has retained its locals, like The Globe in Hackney.
“John Smiths? In a guiness glass?” The barmaid proposed to the man behind us after we were served. She knew her punters well.
A couple of men who looked like they were about to fight at the bar were actually just enjoying a whiskey and chat.
Every table of people looked like it could tell you a very different but equally interesting tale.
Signs dotted around the bar give a sense of the place and obviously full of QPR bits in case you forgot Loftus Road was just round the corner.
The fellas sat in Bullshit Corner oddly asked us how many dolphins there were in the world as we left. We didn’t know.
