We had saved the best to last, having hopped over the central reservation of the ring road we crossed into a residential street and came across the Wheatsheaf. Walking into a pumping karaoke night full of locals. Fantastic atmosphere with the Waynes World Experience on entertainment. A father son combo chatted over a pint in the window seat, two lads played pool and big crowd of middle aged women cheered anyone who would sing for them. Jamie, Andy and Ed obliged with a rendition of Lou Vega's Mambo No. 5. Electric. Wayne himself joined in with a minature trumpet and we had the audience eating out of our hands.
Absolutely superb pub that has it all. Really friendly barmaids and welcoming locals. Think we'll be back.
So thats it for Romford, no other pub in the immediate vicninity looked worthwhile though do let us know if we missed any crackers.
