For the final pub of the evening we took a 10 minute walk to the Prince of Wales on Green Lane.
We arrived flustered as the walk was further than we’d expected and we came to the realisation that it was dark, cold, late and we were in Ilford, miles from home. A friendly barmaid hastily poured us some pints of Deuchars ale to soothe our discontent. The pub seemed empty though we soon located a door to the lounge which was much more homely and had a handful of tables with people enjoying the end of their evenings.
So that was it for Ilford. Not many people know, but @noel.edmonds was born in Ilford. I wonder if he frequented any of the establishments we did last night in his younger years? Noel?
