Jono’s was next, Irish pub, busy and very friendly. Incredible interior, with lots of Guinness memorabilia which was a joy to behold.
We got there in time to see Szczęsny save Messi’s penalty and the place was buzzing. Our shared love of football led to good chats on grassroots footie and the local teams the old fellas on the table next to us used to play for.
We enjoyed Taytos Rough Cuts with our drinks.
In the garden at halftime, 8 unbeknown to each other gents, including two of us discussed the successes of Elizabeth Line. Before we went back inside we explained our nights plan and they too warned us off the next pub, stating it might still be closed from the trouble a couple of weeks ago. They really knew how to excite us.
As we left and said our goodbyes to the bartender a gaggle of goodbyes were offered in return across the bar. Really quite a friendly bunch these Ilfordites.
I’ve got a feeling we might see Jono’s again.

Silver 2022
Silver 2022 - Jono’s in Ilford. Low and behold another Irish pub. Again brilliant Guiness and the same friendly barman who served us the first time we came. The air filled with the smell of mulled wine set the scene and we enjoyed a Pub Sessions quiz. Another one which you really must must visit, its obviously a cracker from the outside and only gets better the longer you’re there 🇮🇪
