Staying on Park Street just a hop, skip and a jump away was The Chequers. An English and Caribbean pub, as noted on the sign outside. Old gents playing dominoes inside, younger gents in the garden and a middle aged crowd arguing about the amount of water on the planet at the bar.
Barmaid served us pints, whilst Herring opted for a Rum Punch slushy. We got another to share and it really got the party started. Sweet and cold with a heavy volume of wray and nephews.
Food looked very good though we'd just filled up on chicken and chips, philistines.
Cracking atmosphere, and another completely unique and different type of place that Luton has to offer. Every place so far has brought something new to the evening — whether it’s the food, drinks, music or the people. Alas, the night was far from over, and we still had two more venues to seek out. On we flew.
