The Angel and Crown on Roman Road shut in Feb 2018 after numerous complaints from local residents, the landlord at the time was quoted as saying he “couldn’t be bothered anymore”. Luckily it reopened last year with a new landlady who welcomed us last night. @londonpubexplorer also coincidentally highlighted to us a 2 for 1 deal, of which we took advantage. Though revamped and serving pale ale it still had the same local atmosphere which is so often lost when a pub gets modernised. The place is cracking and the landlady is keeping the community spirit going. This is the way to do it 🍻.
