Final pub of the evening and one we’d been told by nearly all the pubs along Hertford Road to be careful in. Lovely ‘Regular Customers Only’ sign on the door gave you a nice unwelcoming feeling before you’d even stepped in. The barmaid was hesitant at first, stating they were closing at 11. With it being 10.10pm we decided we had enough time for a drink and she eventually conceded we could stay for one. We nestled round a table and before we knew it the barmaid was locking the door and giving us the nod to smoke indoors. We had been inaugarated into a White House lock-in. We felt by the time we left we’d have been welcomed back anytime. Unfortunatey due to the need to make the last train from Turkey Street we were unable to fully utilise the lock-in priveleges though maybe one day we’ll return 👏🏼
