By far the best pub in Barking, The Victoria. The women behind the bar were phenomenal and gave us a run down of the area and the old pubs. So many of which have closed, Barking seems to have been hit hard by pub closures with only 3 real pubs really remaining in the centre. They bemoaned the wetherspoons for driving the prices down and taking all the custom. The family of one of the ladies used to run the Barking Tap which is now the Kings Lounge. They invited us behind the scenes for a photo which was a great memento of our time here. They even called up the Kings Bull, an old pub turned nightclub where we had planned to go next to get them to look after us. Unfortunately when we left Mert realised he’d left his bag at the previous bar so we had to skip the Kings Bull. I think we may see this haunt again and look forward to witness it rocking on a saturday night.

Bronze 2020
Bronze 2020. The Victoria in Barking. There are only two real pubs left in Barking and this really is the bees knees. We gambled on it being an Irons pub and got them a West Ham print which went down well. We were also there in time to enjoy the cheers as Masuaku put Chelsea in their place on the 87th minute. Rob (pictured) and John were manning the bar and were appreciative of the award. We hope it adorns the walls for many years to come.
