Final stop on the 2019 Pub Sessions tour was ironically not a pub - Hurricane Rooms Enfield. With most Hurricane Rooms closing down, it was a delight to see one open and busy. Hurricane Rooms are like Rileys - Pool hall generally open until 4am most days. We had to pay £2 entry and pool was an expensive £8.95 an hour though they had a punch machine which was a nice touch. A group of 5 or so travelling folk came in with wives in tow and argued with the barstaff as to why they shouldn’t be barred anymore. They must have won as they were drinking as we left.
So that’s it for 2019, two new members and a lot of travelling this year but we’ve seen some incredible sights. We’ve visited Woolwich, Enfield, Croydon, Willesden Green and Plaistow amongst others. The Xmas Pub Sessions 2019 is on the 7th December. As always all of the top ten pubs will be visited on that day and the top three presented with awards but only one can be crowned Pub of the Year! 🍻
