The Picture Palace was once a grand old cinema opening in 1913. It was revitalised by Wetherspoons however since 2016 has been owned by Hawthorn Leisure. It still retains a Wetherspoons feel which has its negatives and positives. Great barstaff and a very safe and homely feel. Some quite depressed people were knocking around which is usual for a Wetherspoonsesque pub gone 10pm. I thought Conway had been sick outside which meant Mert had a laughing breakdown. Jak had to run early as his journey time home to Hitchin was near 2 hours.
