What a beauty! This ones been overdue and has been on the list for a couple of years now. The path to this pub along St Johns Way seems to be made for 4x4s but if you can tackle it - your reward is a delicious pint of Carling (or Dark Fruits if your Conway). The Royal Oak retains its separate pole and pub sign to alert passersby of its presence. Not something you see often for a pub in London. From the exterior you know you’re in for a treat and on entering are welcomed by wooden beams holding the place together. Darts and footie on the screens. Nice landlady behind the bar keeping things running smoothly and very clean. No non-visible disabilities allowed in the disabled toilets.
