Keeping with the poultry theme, we ambled over to The Cock to meet two more sessions members. No space inside as much like everywhere, it was rammed last night. Owned by Greene King who seemed to have a stronghold over many boozers in Herts.
Baldock became a regional centre for malting in the 16th century, and in 1881 there were about 30 drinking establishments in the town of only 1,900 people. 63 people per pub - fantastic.
The Cock didn’t serve cherryade which Mert wanted which was a shame though we had two pints and saw utd destroy all our bets. Nice enough place, inside looked like it had some character, the garden was quite modern and we got a nice booth.
