From the sign outside the front of The Arena we were promised “a fine Indian restaurant and a classy bar”. As we descended into the abyss and through a long corridor, we were treated to an oasis of booze and curry. Pure bliss.
It’s very much a bar-come-restaurant, with a split of locals eating lamb rogan josh on one side whilst a selection of old boys played pool and drank Carlsberg on the other. The VERY friendly barmaid welcomed us in and sat us down at a nearby table where we sat watching Leicester struggle to figure out exactly what a pattern of play was against the Hammers.
This place celebrated its Indian heritage and had flags everywhere adorning the ceiling. Whilst we were there, Jak was pulled in by the bar staff to help with some rearranging of the flags – always going the extra mile here at Sessions.
To break with tradition twice in two months, we also consumed some food. And very lovely it was too. Vague recollection of everyone being impressed by the resilience of the poppadoms when dipped into the various sundries.
