We skipped the Clerys Clock Bar as it looked very plain inside and went straight to The Shanakee. This place was a hoot with a few lively locals keeping it noisy. We joined in and completely lost our heads having arm wrestles (Jak current champion) and making Joe do double rums. Conway put UB40 on the jukebox and the place was on fire. One local jumped in the photo outside and threw the shaka hand sign without any prompt. I’ve got a feeling we may see The Shanakee again.
Kingsbury/Colindale though they had large high streets seemed on the whole quite residential and a similar feel to Willesden Green with many an Irish pub open and in good nick. North West is such a great area for an Irish pub crawl. Get down their one Saturday when the GAA is back on and get invovled 🇨🇮
