What an amazing place. Nestled perfectly between Upton Park and Plaistow station is The Lord Stanley. Chris was behind the bar and happy to talk about his trade. Apparently taking £48k on the last game West Ham played at the Boleyn Ground to just £400 on Christmas Eve last year. The harsh reality of corporate decisions by West Ham United on the local area. Nonetheless, the place was thriving. An old couple held the bar up, darts teams on one side of the pub and pool slugs on the other. Live music at the weekend. They’re alive and kicking but if you get chance, pop in a get yourself a bottle of Special Brew for a very reasonable £2.50. Chris rounded the visit off nicely with a video message to gone but not forgotten Sessions member Andy.

The winner. Kenzie and the Lord Stanley. The woman behind the bar was fantastic though we did miss Chris who we met previously. The place was still absolutely rocking, we were all sorts of hours from home. However we stayed. It stays open. Be open forever more 🥇
