Next up was the Shakespeare’s Head. We had heard this was a cracker and it didn’t disappoint. There was an array of blokes at the bar and the local fella who came and sat next to us was getting table service Guiness refills. Toasties were still on offer for very reasonable prices and the landlord was happy to talk us through the day Kylie Minogue visited the pub. The walls were filled with signed photos of celebrities; one of the brothers from Bros, Victor Meldrew and the Cat from Red Dwarf to name a few. We enjoyed it so much we sacked off the Lucas Arms which looked shit anyway and stayed for another drink. Get yourself down here and see how many celebrities you can name on the wall. Great man and woman combo behind the bar make you feel very welcome. We loved it.

Silver 2020 Shakespeare’s Head. We got here too late for a final pint which was a big shame though Jason was very apologetic. This is a real gem of a pub. Well known in pub lover circles and a must visit for any enthusiasts. We’ll be back for a toastie and guiness soon.
