We had such high hopes for the third pub, just a stones throw from the last, alas it was closed. When we tried the door, a lady came into the entrance conservatory and gestured they were closed, quickly disappeared behind the curtains before we could barter with her.
From the pubs facebook page it appears the old landladys friend Mervyn has taken it on so perhaps they’re giving it a little spruce before reopening. Fingers crossed.
